Taylor Kitsch is a Canadian actor and model, best known for his central role as Tim Riggins in the critically acclaimed TV series "Friday Night Lights." Born on April 8, 1981, in Kelowna, British Columbia, he initially pursued a career in professional hockey, which was cut short by a knee injury in 2002. He then transitioned to modeling, signing with IMG in New York City in 2001, and later with Nous Modeling Management in Los Angeles in 2004, while also studying acting. His acting breakthrough came in 2006 with multiple projects, including "John Tucker Must Die," "Snakes on a Plane," "The Covenant," and most notably, "Friday Night Lights."
