Jonathan Pryce Short biography
Sir Jonathan Pryce CBE is a Welsh actor and singer, born John Price on June 1, 1947, in Carmel, Flintshire, Wales. He began his career as a stage actor after studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and later became the artistic director of the Everyman Theatre. With over 100 acting credits, he is known for diverse roles in films like "Brazil," "Glengarry Glen Ross," "Pirates of the Caribbean," and "The Two Popes," for which he received an Academy Award nomination. His notable television appearances include "Game of Thrones" and "The Crown." A highly successful stage actor, he won Tony Awards for "Comedians" and "Miss Saigon." Pryce was appointed a CBE in 2009 and knighted in 2021 for his services to drama and charity.
