Alexis Bledel Short biography
Kimberly Alexis Bledel was born on September 16, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to Argentine and Mexican parents, growing up in a Spanish-speaking home. Discovered by a scout, she began modeling as a teenager. After briefly attending NYU, Bledel landed her breakout role as Rory Gilmore in the critically acclaimed series "Gilmore Girls" (2000-2007), reprising it for the 2016 Netflix revival. She gained further recognition in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" films and for her Emmy-winning performance as Emily Malek in "The Handmaid's Tale" (2017-2021). Bledel has also appeared in films like "Sin City" and "Tuck Everlasting." She married actor Vincent Kartheiser in 2014 and they have one son.
