Ricky Gervais Short biography
Ricky Gervais is an English comedian, actor, writer, filmmaker, and musician. He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019). The Observer named Gervais one of the 50 funniest performers in British comedy in 2003.
Gervais began his career as a musician, but he eventually transitioned to comedy. He rose to fame in the early 2000s for his role as David Brent in the British mockumentary sitcom The Office, which he co-created, co-wrote, and starred in. Gervais has since starred in numerous films and television shows, including Extras, Derek, and After Life.
