Shea Whigham Short biography
Franklin Shea Whigham Jr. (born January 5, 1969, in Tallahassee, Florida) is an American actor widely recognized for his work as a prolific and highly respected character actor in film and television. His father, Frank, was an attorney, and his mother, Beth, was a school librarian. Whigham grew up in Tallahassee before his family moved to Lake Mary, Florida, when he was five years old. After attending Lake Mary High School, he went to Tyler Junior College in Texas before transferring to the State University of New York (SUNY) at Purchase, where he was part of a small, intensive acting program. Upon graduating, he co-founded the NYC theatre troupe The Rorschach Group with his college roommate and fellow actor, Kirk Acevedo. He is married to Christine Whigham and has four children, including actress Giorgia Whigham.
