Daniel Diemer (born June 21, 1996) is a Canadian actor who rose to international prominence for his lead role in the Netflix film The Half of It. Born and raised in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Diemer grew up in a family with deep ties to athletics; his father, Greg Diemer, is a professional tennis coach who mentored the Canadian National Junior Team. Standing at 6'4", Diemer originally pursued a professional sports career, playing soccer and tennis at a high level. However, a growth spurt and subsequent back injury forced him to abandon athletics, leading him to briefly enroll in pre-medical classes at Camosun College.
