Anthony Geary Short biography
Anthony Geary (born Tony Dean Geary; May 29, 1947 – December 14, 2025) was an American actor best known for his portrayal of Luke Spencer on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. Born in Coalville, Utah, he was the son of a contractor and a homemaker. He was raised in the Mormon faith, though he later expressed complex feelings regarding his religious upbringing. Geary attended the University of Utah on a theater scholarship before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting professionally.
He was in a long-term relationship with Claudio Gama for over 30 years; the couple married in February 2019. Following his retirement from acting in 2015, Geary moved to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where he lived until his death in December 2025 due to complications from a planned surgery.
