Jim Walton Short biography
Jim Walton is an American billionaire businessman and heir to the Walmart fortune. He is the youngest son of Walmart founder Sam Walton. As of 2023, Walton has an estimated net worth of US$62.0 billion as of March 2024, making him one of the richest people in the world.
Walton was born in Newport, Arkansas, in 1948. He attended the University of Arkansas, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. After graduating, he joined Walmart and worked in the company's real estate dealings. He later became president of Walton Enterprises, the Walton family's holding company.
In 2005, Walton joined the Walmart Board of Directors. He is also chairman of Community Publishers Inc., a newspaper firm that was founded by his father. Walton is also the CEO and chairman of Arvest Bank, another Walton family business.
