Phil Knight is an American billionaire businessman and philanthropist. He is the co-founder and former chairman and CEO of Nike, Inc. Knight is credited with popularizing the waffle sole for athletic shoes and expanding the company from a small operation to a global sportswear giant. He is also the owner of the Portland Trail Blazers NBA team and the Portland Thorns FC NWSL team.
