Vera Farmiga Short biography
Vera Farmiga is an acclaimed American actress, director, and producer, born August 6, 1973, in Clifton, New Jersey. From Ukrainian heritage, she began her career on Broadway in 1996, followed by her television debut in "Roar" and film debut in "Return to Paradise." Farmiga gained significant recognition for her roles in "Down to the Bone" (2004) and "The Departed" (2006). Her performance in "Up in the Air" (2009) earned her an Academy Award nomination. She is widely known for portraying Norma Louise Bates in A&E's "Bates Motel" (2013–2017) and Lorraine Warren in "The Conjuring" horror film franchise (2013–present). Farmiga also directed the film "Higher Ground" (2011) and has appeared in "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" and "Hawkeye."
