Martha Plimpton is an American actress and singer who began her professional career as a model in the early 1980s, landing her first film role at age 11 in 1981's 'Rollover'. She is widely known for her roles as Stef Steinbrenner in 'The Goonies' (1985), Virginia Chance on the Fox sitcom 'Raising Hope' (2010–2014), and Patti Nyholm in the CBS legal drama 'The Good Wife' (2009–2013), for which she won a Primetime Emmy. Plimpton has over 80 film and television credits, including 'The Mosquito Coast' (1986) and 'Parenthood' (1989), and has an extensive Broadway career, earning multiple Tony nominations. She has also worked as an associate producer, writer, and voice actress, notably voicing Olivia in 'Minecraft: Story Mode' and Yelena in 'Frozen II'. A vocal advocate for abortion rights, Plimpton has served on the board of directors for the women's rights organization A Is For.
