He rose to prominence for his role as Dr. John Carter on the NBC medical drama 'ER', a role that earned him five Emmy and three Golden Globe nominations. Wyle also notably played Steve Jobs in 'Pirates of Silicon Valley', starred in 'The Librarian' franchise, and led the sci-fi drama 'Falling Skies'. He is recognized for his extensive stage work and more recent television roles in 'The Red Line' and 'The Pitt', the latter for which he won an Emmy Award in 2025.
