Vince Gilligan is an American television writer, director, and producer, best known as the creator of the critically acclaimed series 'Breaking Bad' and its prequel 'Better Call Saul'. Born on February 10, 1967, in Richmond, Virginia, Gilligan's career began in the early 1990s with his script 'Home Fries'. His major breakthrough came when he joined the writing staff of 'The X-Files' in 1995, contributing to 30 episodes and co-creating its spinoff 'The Lone Gunmen'. 'Breaking Bad', which aired from 2008 to 2013, cemented his status as a renowned storyteller, followed by 'Better Call Saul' (2015-2022) and 'El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie' (2019). Known for his meticulous plotting and moral complexity, Gilligan has been under contract with Sony Pictures Television since 2007.
