Bono Short biography
Bono, born Paul David Hewson, is an Irish singer, songwriter, musician, venture capitalist, and philanthropist. He is best known as the lead singer and primary lyricist of the rock band U2.
Bono has been involved in activism since the mid-1980s, campaigning for debt relief, AIDS awareness, and other social justice causes. He is a co-founder of the ONE Campaign, DATA, and (RED).
Bono has won 22 Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. He has also received numerous other awards and honors for his activism and philanthropy. He was named Time Person of the Year in 2005 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2007.
