MacKenzie Scott is an American novelist, philanthropist, and activist. She was previously married to Jeff Bezos, founder and former CEO of Amazon, and is the third-wealthiest woman in the United States and the 47th-wealthiest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of US$35.6 billion as of March 2024.
Scott is known for her philanthropy and has pledged to give away the majority of her wealth to charity. She made headlines in 2020 and 2021 for donating a total of $10.55 billion to 986 organizations, including HBCUs, Hispanic-serving institutions, tribal colleges and universities, and other social justice organizations.
Scott is also an accomplished writer and has published two novels, The Testing of Luther Albright and Traps.
